London! (Part 1)

I arrived home from a 6 day post Leaving Cert holiday in London on Tuesday night and I intend to spend the rest of this week catching up on all the sleep I lost throughout my stay there, so I thought it would be the perfect time to make a cuppa coffee & start working on my London blog posts. ^_^

IMG_3741
Our last glimpse of Ireland! Our flight somehow managed to arrive like 10 minutes early? I’m convinced Ryanair give wrong estimated times just so they can be like ‘OMFG WE ARRIVED SO EARLY HOW GREAT ARE WE’ u_u

Side note: I managed to momentarily lose both mine and Lily’s tickets & passports. After a few minutes of crazily running around retracing my steps I found them.

Day 1: Oxford Street
IMG_3742
We had a morning flight so we decided to spend a few hours on Oxford Street…. Probably wasn’t the best choice for our first day because it was totally packed and the majority of shops are absolutely massive. I thought we’d never make it out of Selfridges or Topshop. O_O

I’m proud of myself for not buying too much and also proud of Lily for actually buying something!

Day 2: Leicester Square, Covent Garden Trafalgar Square, Chinatown, OUR FIRST EVER WEST END MUSICAL!!!, etc..This was definitely one of my favourite days because we did so much in the space of one day….we also walked a lot too.
Side note: Converse are not good for walking long distances in.
DSCF2105
Random shot in/near(?) Leicester Square. The weather was pretty dreary in the morning but it soon brightened up.
DSCF2117
We decided to have a look around Chinatown since it is literally right beside Leicester Square, which I found funny cause I thought it would be more difficult to find. It was also a lot bigger than I imagined it would be. Although it consists of a lot of restaurants / other food related places, there are some other stores where you can find cute Asian clothes, accessories, make-up, skincare and other miscellaneous shizz! There was also a proper sticker booth machine in one store. I regret not getting photos in it now. ;__;

DSCF2107
This is the Korean restaurant we decided to eat in. T’was super yummy. We may or may not have had some soju heheh. We came back here again the following Monday and the waitress recognised us; it was so cute! ^_~

DSCF2110
So many options. *___* There was even wine flavoured pepero wtf. I think this store was called Oriental Delight.

DSCF2112
And here is me doing a typical tourist pose at the gates of Chinatown! (this is one of the dresses I bought shopping on Oxford Street, in New Look)
Thanks to the lovely maps everywhere, we then made our way to Covent Garden! I really loved it; very tourist friendly, lots of street performers and places to sit, eat and shop. ^_^

IMG_3782DSCF2118
I don’t know if I love macarons because they taste good or because they look so cute. Anyway, the LadurĂ©e store is super pretty and the woman at the counter addressed me as Madame wtf. I got salted caramel & chocolate coconut(?) macarons…yes I am too cheap to buy a box so I only buy a few each time.

DSCF2120
We were lucky because we came here on the day they have a food market! I didn’t really look at the other stalls too much because this one caught my attention first. They use organic flower, free range eggs etc. which I always like cause I feel that it shows they really care about the quality of their products.
DSCF2120 menu
A closer look at what they had to offer. Honestly I wanted to try everything cause I may or may not have a serious sweet tooth. *_*
IMG_3750
In the end I decided to try the Red Velvet…cupcake which is not really a cupcake but I don’t know what to call it so I’ll just go with cupcake. It was so good and the icing was agdlkjadhgkjbHSLKGHdalghadfskjihbkfasjnhba *drools* Lily got a Belgian cookie and was of the same opinion.

DSCF2121
You can’t go to London without taking a picture beside a red telephone box! (I didn’t take one last year but shhhh)
Before heading to Trafalgar Square we decided to see if there were any cheap tickets for musicals available and we got two tickets for A Chorus Line for that evening for £28 each! I got so excited cause I’ve wanted to see a west end musical for the longest time ever…..like since I was around 8 or so. >_<

DSCF2130
In Trafalgar Square! The National Portrait Gallery is in the background. I’m not really that into art but I thought the renaissance section was quite cool. ^_^
DSCF2141
View from the entrance of the National Portrait Gallery. It was actually really sunny when I took this so I’m not sure why it looks as if it’s dull. O_o

DSCF2146
Since we had a few hours to kill we decided to walked in the direction of the Houses Of Parliament and whatnot. Downing Street is pretty boring but I took a picture of the signpost just to say I’ve been there lolol.
We then stumbled across this random park beside where the changing of the guards in Whitehall is… still don’t know the actual name of the park but it’s super super pretty!

DSCF2155

DSCF2166
SQUIRRELS!!!!! This was my highlight of the holiday wtf. I spent way too long chasing them to try and get a good photo. They were actually surprisingly friendly towards humans, one even started climbing the railings beside us lolol.

DSCF2168
I got a picture with one! Mainly because it was preoccupied with drinking whatever was on the ground so it wasn’t bouncing all over the place wtf

DSCF2159
Really cute house which had a sign explaining what it was….but I can’t remember what it said now OTL
This is the part where we went back to get Korean food in Chinatown and then rushed our asses over to the London Palladium ‘cause we thought the show started at 7pm when it actually started at 7:45pm…..we arrived there at 6:30 –_____-

Seriously though, A Chorus Line is freaking awesome. I knew some of the songs already and had a basic knowledge of what it’s about but holy crap it was amazing! I actually got a bit teary-eyed at the start cause it was my first ever West End musical and it’s been pretty much a lifelong dream of mine to see one before I die…….NOW I WANT TO SEE THEM ALL *_* and also Broadway too. My bank account is going to hate me. Oh and halfway through I realised that John Partridge (Christian from Eastenders) was Zach…he strutted right by us and everything!
IMG_3781My ticket! They spelled Conaty (Lily’s surname) as ‘Conarty’….at first he had it like ‘Conrty’ because she pronounced the ‘a’ like ‘ah’ lolol. I never realised Lily had such a heavy Irish accent until we came to London. O_O

IMG_3778
An extremely badly taken photo of inside the London Palladium. :3 It looks a lot nicer in person, trust me.
I shall continue the rest of my London trip in another post….stay tuned, cause I know you are all dying to hear about it. u-u

…And So I Face, The Final Curtaaaaain

I’m writing this as an /almost/ free woman, because today I completed my penultimate Leaving Cert. exam! My final exam is on the 20th (Music w00).
I might do a vlog/blog post or something talking about the LC once I’m officially finished, but for now I shall just have a little ramble about other things. ^_^

IMG_3614
Last picture I’ll ever take with Lynnie in our Loreto uniforms! Bittersweet moment~
You might notice from the photo that we got slightly wet from the rain. Some got more soaked than others as /some/ people decided to go rolling down a hill. >_<’

The majority of my friends are finished now, so I had celebratory lunch with Roi, Shauna, Lynnie Anastasia and the super cool college kid Lily (who was wearing her NUIM hoodie of course).

IMG_3608
This is my celebratory Greek salad! I actually had a Greek salad in Delish when I finished my mocks too. They’re damn expensive but worth it cause foodgasm.

I’m heading to London with Roi in 12 days! *excited squeals* However I am slightly worried we’ll get lost roughly about 657896474567798657498674479486749474076 times give or take. Luckily I have family living in London which slightly reassures me that we won’t completely fail at making our way around the city. ^_~ I’m starting to get super excited though, searching for things to do, places to see and all that jazz.

I also need to get a debs dress. The only problem is…..I have no idea what colour or type of dress I want. O_O I’m hoping I’ll just walk into a shop and I’ll just see a dress and know that it’s ~the one~ cause if not then I am truly fudged heheheheheh.

*UPDATE* After about an hour of browsing online, I think I may have found a possible debs dress. I’m not 100% yet, I shall show le friends & parents to ask for opinions and then we’ll see. ^_^

Before I end this, I also wanna let everyone know that I’m starting a book tonight but I have no idea what once cause I have a lot that need to be read so it might take me longer to actually choose which one to read than to read the actual book heh.

Farewell people of teh interwebz~

Congradulation

Before I start, I want to apologise for the title. I was trying to be celever and merge ‘graduation’ and ‘congratulations’ but it turned out looking lame….and now the world will probably think I can’t spell congratulations…I CAN. I PROMISE YOU, I REALLY CAN.

Now that’s out of the way…..

I had my final day of school and graduation mass/ceremony on May 21st, but honestly….it really doesn’t feel like I’ve graduated. It’s most likely due to the fact that the Leaving Cert is just around the corner and I’m assuming once I sit my final exam (June 20th heh) it will sink in a little more. It’s strange though, because I’ve spent much of my time at school wishing I was finished and the closer it got to graduation, the more I realised I did /not/ want to leave there. I was talking to Lily about it on Whatsapp a while back and she said most people are like that because we are basically taken out of our comfort zone and flung into the ~big bag world~ where we have to make choices, such as…WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? etc.

Anyhow, I shall share some pictures from graduation day & night!

IMG_3384
My Biology buddies! Gael, Sarah and Sarah (why do I have so many friends with the same name orz) Biology was our last class of the year, but technically it wasn’t really a class since our teacher just let us have the chats & she brought in nomz for us too. ^_^

IMG_3380
My history teacher and a little under a half of my history class! She’s possibly the nicest teacher I’ve ever had. She even gave all of us good luck cards & wrote a different message on everyones card – so thoughtful! She also made us rocky road cake and it tasted amazing….so amazing that I may have took three slices. *coughs awkwardly*

It’s tradition at my school that on the last day, the 6th years spend lunch in the courtyard dancing/singing to songs…while the rest of the school watch us act cray. I didn’t even realise there were that many people watching heheh were we that entertaining? I stole this pic from Lynnie (technically Caoilinn since she took it!) btw.

935442_10201202591169510_56886919_n
Having an emotional sing-along with Lynnie, Sharon, Yvette, Laura & Roi! I can’t remember the song but I do recall not knowing the lyrics and eventually giving up on trying to get the lyrics right and just yelling random vowel sounds, hoping for the best o-o

941875_10201202587489418_960680112_n
Mainly adding this picture because I love Roi’s facial expression. It’s like she’s putting her heart & soul into the song!

970315_10201202589569470_9830766_n
This is one of my personal favourites tbh. (Back row L-R: Aoife, Simone, Lucy, Yvette, Sharon & ofc me, Lynnie & Roi at the front)

IMG_3403
Yvette & Sharon dancing! (and also Lynnie unintentional photobomb)

DSCF2022
Most of my TY class, Schuman, and also our adopted Schumaner Chloe! This was taken after the graduation mass and ceremony, before everyone rushed to get changed to go out! ‘Twas a nice evening, but I thought the ceremony was never going to end….speech and speech after speech and so many things were repeated ahhhh. My favourite part was Ms Buckley’s spontaneous speech, idk I thought it was really heartfelt and very sincere since she wasn’t reading it from a sheet. I’m not gonna lie,it actually made my eyes a little watery wtf.

942335_10201202652411041_1025084811_n
Picture of me looking slightly possessed. Taken by the lovely Lynnie. (alliteration ooooooh)

DSCF2037
Laura, Lynnie, Anastasia, Sharon, me & Roi….who is clinging onto me like a sloth!

DSCF2056
One of my favourite pictures! Gael, me, Lynnie, Simone, Chloe & Cliodhna~ I should probably mention that I got a new camera recently for my birthday. Really liking it so far I must say!

DSCF2032
Although at one point during the night…I literally could not take any photos properly. As you can see Roi is laughing at my failure here. u_u

DSCF2053
Lynnie, Gael, Cliodhna, Chloe, Sarah & Katelin! Taken by the best photographer evaaaaaaaaa aka me xo

DSCF2079
This photo raises many questions…..Why can I not remember taking this? Why are we on the floor? Why is Roi not hiding from the camera? Why is Roi drinking……cidona???!?!?!? Questions aside, it’s probably one of my favourite pictures in the entire history of pictures EVER.

It was a fun grad night I must say and I made many memories that shall stay with my forever. :’) It definitely wouldn’t have been as great without all my friends who were there though, thank you all for putting up with me & my strange ways over the years and for just being genuinely cool peoples! *internet hugglez*

February (Part 1)

(FYI: I had this posts in my drafts for a while now so some of the things I've said sound a little outdated now.)

I am super ultra mega happy to say I am finally done with the mocks and now have a week off to relax (sort of). However, I am not super ultra mega happy at the fact that after this week I have to do mock Irish and German orals and mock music practical.........not to mention actually getting my mock results back eeek. Overall, the mocks weren't completely awful, but they weren't amazing at the same time. I'm hoping I'm just underestimating myself and I'll end up getting much better grades then I thought. I know it's overused but ~they are only the mocks~ so really it's not the end of the world if an exam doesn't go according yo plan yo. u_u fun fact: I typed 'Poland' instead of 'plan' wtf.

I received these in the post the day before the mocks started (I think). They were on sale in Schuh for €44, original price is €100!!!!!!! Quite comfy but I think they run a little big in size orz

I have no idea how this happened. O_O Basically one day the screen was fine and the next day it was cracked into a billion pieces *confused* Basically my 3GS was depressed cause my iPhone 5 was getting all of my attention or like.....Sheba sat on it idk. All the endless possibilities..... *gazes out window while stroking beard*

I woke up extremely early every morning for the past I-can't-even-remember weeks, so I went for walks with Lady on the weekends when it started to get bright. ^_^

I also woke up one morning and there was snow everywhere wtf. My dad had said the day before it would snow throughout the night but I didn't really pay attention, mainly due to the fact that the other several times he told me this, it never happened. -_- I ended up missing Irish paper 2, but I made it in for biology yay! After biology my right leg died and it was a really strange experience cause I almost fell over if it wasn't for Gael catching me. So thank you for saving me from what could have been a awfully embarrassing moment. ^_^

This is one of my favourite snack foods omg so yums. I started eating it during the break before bio and Roi was like 'ARE YOU EATING LEAVES??' orz. I ate so much throughout the mocks cause I didn't want to end up hungry in the middle of an exam, 'cause hunger drastically changes my mood. Everything and everyone annoys me and I get super snappy and depressed *sighs*

This is me being sad the night before German.

I procrastinated TONNES the evening I took this, 'cause it was music (last exam) the next day. I had gotten to the stage of tiredness where I was so exhausted I just sat there and did next to nothing oops.

Shauna laughed when I told her I took a picture of my pen cause I wanted to document how much ink I used in one history exam. :( I just thought it was a lot of ink used for just one exam okie?! Just a heads up if anyone reading this is doing LC history: it's one damn tiring exam, my hand was cramped for hours after it and even though the hall where we did the exam was freezing, my face got really really warm cause I'm pretty sure my brain was on the brink of exploding at several points. It's like you finish one essay on time and you're like YAAAAAY for maybe a second and then like OK NEXT ESSAY FML HAND PLZ DON'T FALL OFF.

Pretending to be a diligent music student! I was listening to Tchaikovsky on the bus on the way to school and I was sort of maybe dozing off and then all of a sudden it got incredibly loud and it scared the crap out of me. Damn you, Tchaikovsky. Bach will always be my fav though cause ARIA DUETTO.

Shauna also laughed at my celebratory Greek salad w/ bacon in Delish. It was actually quite a momentous occasion cause there were olives in it and I ate them and I distinctly remember eating an olive back in the day and thinking it was vile. I think I must have very adaptable taste buds seeing as this has happened to me with a lot of foods/drinks I hated but now like. O.O

I went to Dublin with Roi & Shauna over midterm. I'm actually quite proud of myself cause I managed to navigate my way from O'Connell St. to Grafton St. w/o dying. Although we had a series of near-death experiences when we first left Bus Aras wtf. None of that matters though, because I FINALLY got to eat my first ever macaroon! *happy tears* It was a very momentous occasion, and now I want more.

A trip to Dublin is never complete without Starbucks. I love how I took this photo, but I wasn't even ready for it...hence my hand awkwardly holding the cup. Actually it looks like I'm offering you my coffee but lets be real, when would I ever give anyone my Starbucks.

We met with Lily and took the train back to Maynooth with her for a short visit. I also got her a malteaser chocolate bunny cause I'm awesome like that yo.

I think Roi & I deserve an award for making it back from Maynooth to Dublin and then back to Cavan all in one piece. Idc if the train station is right beside busaras, this is us we're talking about....we have no concept of direction, therefore this is a major achievement for us OKAY?! U_U
